Over the coming months we will talk about behavioural change, rather than technology change, as a key driver to enhancing collaboration. Many of the high priced consultancies will talk about successful collaborative companies being based on 20% technology and 80% culture. It’s not just about introducing the technology but also the behavioural change to take advantage of the new technologies.
I love the Trip Tyler videos where it shows that the technology is not the issue but our perceived idea (dare I say ‘culture’) of collaboration is. A good example is the ‘conference call’
Many people focus on the poor use of email in companies but my biggest ‘pet hate’ is the ‘meeting culture’ that exists (just ahead of ‘defensive thinking’ but I’ll address that another day).
